A searing indictment on the "someone else's problem" syndrome that plagues our society, this song follows a weary traveller who witnesses injustice, and stays silent. Until they find themselves a victim of terrible violence, and are ignored. A thunderous rock beat fuelled by hammer-hands Nathan, driven by Tom's relentless bass licks, and spun furiously into a tyre-smoking crescendo by Phil's screaming fuzz-soaked guitars, the song maintains a subtle soul with Em's backup vocals, delicate flavour from Lu's honky tonk, and peppered with country spice by Lee's clawhammer banjo. No two performances have been the same, but this one captures the magic of our local and the love of our community, fans and fellow musicians alike.
Dead Head Redemption was formed in late 2023 to bring life to songs by founder Phil West. Inviting Chris Panic on bass and Voitek Biskup on drums to fulfill a one-off showcase, the shared enjoyment of the evening resulted in further rehearsal and ambition. Chris gracefully retired and Tom O'Brien was recruited to join. 2024 proved productive, resulting in several gigs and recording sessions. Debut single This Ain't My Town, released in March 2025, broke into the 4ZZZ top 10 in its 2nd week, having debuted at 17. Already a crowd favourite, the full studio release was received with applause. Two more singles, Runnin' & The Thief quickly followed, with all three released on a limited-edition vinyl EP. With Voitek bowing out, replacement Nathan Firth took the throne. The back half of 2025 was packed full of shows, culminating in a return to their local Cardigan Bar in Sandgate on Dec 19th. 2026 promises even more, with plenty of gigs and the album recording to take us into June.
