About the Artist

Sydney based 23 year old, Ethan James Goodacre has just launched his first Single ‘Barrentown’. Ethan James Goodacre is independent artist who grew up in the Albury/Wodonga region, travelled Australia and has now been based in Sydney the past 5 years managing venues and events. He has been writing and playing music since he was 10 years old and was heavily involved in the performing arts. Ethan's style and story has evolved over time and now transpires into an indie folk/rock collection. Think a culmination of Noah Kahan, Mumford and Sons, Hozier, Lime Cordiale and Bon Iver. Ethan worked alongside Will Lobb to record at Def Wolf Studios on an album in 2023 but due to unforeseen circumstances it took longer to come together than expected. Finally the time has come and ‘Barrentown’ has been released as a single before all song launch together as an album. Barrentown came together as a fusion of moments from Ethan's life. Developed from moments of reflection, the further he explored the story the more he found it applicable to so many places and people. Ultimately it explores love, heartbreak and isolation. Set within a small country town it follows a lost-love story, viewed from someone stuck living and reflecting on the town they grew up in.
