Following their debut single That’s That, Lost In The Past return with Seat by the Fire, a darker and more confronting track that marks a clear step into heavier territory. The song is about two people who know they’ve crossed lines they can’t undo. As one of them reaches the end, the whispered line “save me a seat by the fire” is an acknowledgement of the life they lived together, the damage they caused, and the fact they’ll face the consequences side by side. Seat by the Fire was recorded locally in Bendigo at Tom Hadlow’s studio. When listening, keep an ear out for the bridge section, it’s a standout moment and a personal favourite of Aaron’s.
