Inspired by lullaby songs (mostly Brahms “Wiegenlied”), Alt-Rock, MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) and Bossa Nova. Pablo’s writing is aimed to take the listener to a place of calm and tranquility. Motivated by his great-grandfather José Laurindo DE JESUS, who was born a slave in 1893 as José Laurindo DO ROSÁRIO (Rosário; the tree species “Melia azedarach”). Rosário was the name of the farm and the surname of every slave that belonged to that farm. When José Laurindo was in his mid-twenties, he went to register himself and he chose his last name: DE JESUS. Self-taught, this black man was the only one who knew how to read and write, and he taught Germans and Italians immigrating to Brazil the Portuguese language. As musically gifted as he was, he spent his time in his workshop, he made rebecs (rustic violins), guitars and cellos. For his work, he was a teacher, with a school now named after him in Riozinho, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
