About the Artist
Vancouver Sleep Clinic is the Alt/Electronic/R&B project of Brisbane artist Tim Bettinson, a finalist in Triple J's Unearthed High competition in 2013. After a tumultuous decade of sonic exploration, spiritual confusion, vocational highs and emotional lows, the once dubbed ’17 year old boy wonder of electronic R&B' Vancouver Sleep Clinic found himself washed up at a literal loss for words in early 2024; a total burnout that rendered him songless, showless and frozen in time for nearly 2 years. He returned with new single 'Avalanche' in 2025 and a re-discovered sense of clarity & adventure to his ever-honest Alt/R&B sound. Vancouver Sleep Clinic's latest track, 'safe & sound', is an angelic song of hope and comfort. Tim says: "'It feels like this storm will never end…’ Lately I’ve been through days of living & breathing this lyric. Times when the world feels a little colder, the sky looks a shade darker and the horizon seems to fade a bit further into fog. But then I’m offered glimpses of hope; a smile from a stranger, a hug from a friend, a warm conversation, a beautiful sunset, and of course - deep unconditional love. I wrote this song for the person, people, places, and moments that make me feel safe in uncertain times - and I pray that anyone who’s been feeling the weight of world lately can receive this as a little ray of light."
