At the heart of “Pause” is the bittersweet experience of watching your children grow up before your eyes and wanting to press pause. The song also reaches beyond parenthood. “Pause” is a reflection on those amazing moments spent with our loved ones — family, partners and friends. “I wanted to capture that universal feeling of wishing you could slow everything down when you're with the people who make you feel the happiest,” Tartie explains. Tartie worked with acclaimed Australian producer Benjamin McCarthy (Gordi, Alex the Astronaut, Kate Miller-Heidke and Pete Murray) on the track. For “Pause,” McCarthy created a warm pop-folk sound that cleverly compliments Tartie’s intimate yet evocative vocals.
