Tartie
Tartie is an exciting, passionate and fiercely independent Australian artist with musical influences including Maggie Rogers, Missy Higgins and Lady Gaga, all while retaining her singular lyrical and vocal style. Since the release of her debut EP Your Today in 2017, Tartie has evolved into a compelling storyteller, using her songs to explore themes of love, identity, and self-discovery. She has had songs chart on the Triple J Unearthed Pop charts and her track Winter’s Girl was listed as a semi-finalist in international songwriting competition Unsigned Only. In 2020, Tartie wrote a song about the Australian bushfires called Ablaze which received international radio play and was featured on Yale University’s Climate Connections website. During the pandemic, Tartie began working on a collaborative project with US-radio- DJ-turned-songwriter Binnie Klein, titled In These Trees & Tartie. Their collaborative album was produced by David Baron (Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, Lenny Kravitz) and was released in March 2024 to glowing reviews. The end of 2024 saw the release of single “They’re Not You” which received worldwide radio support. In 2025 Tartie was selected to play at the Moonee Valley Sounds music festival. She appeared on ABC Melbourne Radio to promote the show and the festival. Her next single “Pause” is out Friday 11th September 2026 and explores the bittersweet passage of time, watching children grow and making the most of the moments that matter. Song Info: “Pause”, an uplifting pop-folk original that captures the bittersweet passage of time, watching children grow and learning to be present with the people we love. The track drops on all major streaming platforms on Friday 11th September 2026. “Pause” opens with a percussive ticking clock and the line, “time is a little thing that you can't get back,” immediately setting the tone for a song about the one thing we can’t stop: time. At the heart of “Pause” is the bittersweet experience of watching your children grow up before your eyes and wanting to press pause. The song also reaches beyond parenthood. “Pause” is a reflection on those amazing moments spent with our loved ones — family, partners and friends. “I wanted to capture that universal feeling of wishing you could slow everything down when you're with the people who make you feel the happiest,” Tartie explains. Tartie worked with acclaimed Australian producer Benjamin McCarthy (Gordi, Alex the Astronaut, Kate Miller-Heidke and Pete Murray) on the track. For “Pause,” McCarthy created a warm pop-folk sound that cleverly compliments Tartie’s intimate yet evocative vocals.
