Trent Richardson
Yeppoon singer-songwriter Trent Richardson’s new single, ‘All In’, is a country track about the tension between two people who clearly want each other but are both pretending otherwise. Written by Trent a few months ago and inspired by scenes that are played out in clubs and pubs every weekend across Australia, the song is set in a bar at the end of the night, with everyone around them watching things unfold. “It’s about two people who’ve been looking at each other all night and everyone knows what’s going on except them,” Trent said. “They’re both into each other, but they haven’t crossed the line yet. The band’s packing up, one of them said they were leaving ages ago, but they’re still there hanging around.” “As a musician, you see those situations happen all the time when you’re playing shows. I thought it’d make a good song because it’s something a lot of people can relate to.” Trent describes the song as having a smoky, naughty feel, which captures the push and pull of attraction, denial and late-night decisions. “It happens every weekend in pubs and bars,” Trent said. “Both people are acting like it’s not real, but they’re not fooling anybody.”
