Plaything (feat. Jasmine Soto)

George Galanis is an independent songwriter and music producer from Sydney, Australia, releasing music as jeorjeo54. He writes emotionally driven pop - melodic, energetic and sometimes a little melancholic - usually exploring heartbreak, relationships, resilience and moving forward. He writes all lyrics, melodies and arrangements and then collaborates with a select group of session singers and musicians around the world to bring his songs to life. His ethos: producing music that is human, with real emotion and lingers long after the final note has ended. Song Info: In some ways, Plaything feels like a companion track to my debut, Burning Desire, but it comes at relationships from a different emotional angle. Burning Desire begins in vulnerability and gradually finds its confidence and empowerment. Plaything has more bite from the outset. It’s playful, energetic and defiant, built around a simple idea: love is not a game, and nobody deserves to be someone else’s plaything. Lyrically, it’s about recognising when someone is playing with your emotions, confronting it and finding the confidence to say enough is enough. I wanted the music and vocal performance to carry that same attitude: punchy, melodic and full of sass and energy, with genuine emotion underneath. Once again, I’ve been lucky to collaborate with Jasmine Soto on the vocals.
