About this release
At just 18 years old, I found out I was pregnant, and in that moment my whole world changed. There were so many emotions - uncertainty, nerves and excitement - but nothing could prepare me for that first little flutter, or the moment I saw that tiny heartbeat and realised there was a precious little life growing inside me. That feeling has stayed with me all these years, and it is where Butterfly Dance was born. The Butterfly Dance is that little niggling, fluttering feeling - those first tiny movements that only you can feel. It's the beginning of a relationship between a mother and her baby that starts long before you ever hold them in your arms. You talk to them, dream about them and wonder who they will become, while this incredible bond quietly grows stronger every day. And then comes that moment when you finally hold them for the very first time - you kiss them, touch their beautiful soft skin and look into their little face. For that moment, nothing else in the world matters. It's a miracle. There really is nothing more precious than that connection. Written and performed by Lisa Byrne, with melody and production by Stuart Stuart, Butterfly Dance is brought to life by the beautiful guitar work of Robbie Bostock and the stunning violin of Rachel Bostock, whose playing carries so much of the tenderness and emotion of the song. Butterfly Dance takes Lisa back to where motherhood began those first little flutters, that tiny heartbeat, the first touch and a love that began before she had even held her daughter in her arms.
