About this release

Mister Chorister is the alter ego of Australian-born, London-based songwriter Christopher Scott Brammer, whose music explores the uncomfortable space between who we are, who we think we are, and who we're afraid to become. Song Info: You're Not Listening is the third release in the Mister Chorister story. Built around tension, emotional suppression and the struggle to hear your own inner voice, the track moves between atmospheric alternative rock, melodic pop-rock and grunge-influenced guitar, building from psychological pressure towards catharsis before collapsing into silence. The release marks a shift into darker emotional and sonic territory for Brammer’s work. Exploring fear, grief, and emotional suppression, the song captures the feeling of being trapped inside your own head and explores the courage to break through the invisible walls we build around ourselves. However, the song began from a very different perspective, originally inspired by the frustration of feeling that a colleague wasn't listening. That idea was turned around during the songwriting process: What if they felt unheard too? That shift in perspective became the heart of the song, opening up a second interpretation: what if the person we're not listening to is ourselves? The Mister Chorister project reflects the inner journey we are all on. It is an ongoing conversation about courage, self-belief, creativity, and the messy, often uncomfortable process of discovering what may already be within us. Focus Track Mood
