About this release

Morgan La Fae has always had a deep love for pop music and all of its encompassing elements. She writes music to encapsulate a dramatic dreamscape of sonic sadness, bringing her unique artistic vision to both the stage and the studio. The cherry on top of her incredible songwriting and vocal talents is her incomparable stage presence. She has a deep appreciation for the art of performance and loves to invite the audience into her own magical world. With her debut release, Morgan is excited to begin sharing her sonic and visual world with a wider audience through her dream-pop EP that holds five songs each relating to one of the five senses. Morgan brings a fully rounded artistic world alive through her music, whether that’s through her live performances or in your headphones. Song Info: Cigarettes and Coffee is a soft yet gritty offering that captures a specific kind of romanticism. It holds a sense of nostalgia for something that may have only existed behind rose tinted glasses. It’s a love song for those who don’t believe in love. This dream-pop anthem was written and performed by Morgan La Fae and recorded by Ryan Fisherman who also holds down the bass. Multi-instrumentalist Sam White adds the drums as well as the grit on guitar, while Frankie Daly brings her talent to the keyboard. Alice and Jonathan Tanner recorded the strings that bring the track to that dream-like state. The accompanying visualiser was filmed by Morgan La Fae in her grandparents garden on a perfect summer's day, which encapsulates the beauty of the song, while the low quality of the Photobooth captured footage creates that hazy, daydreaming atmosphere that the song places you in. The overlay of flowers meshed with the slow motion and distorted footage leaves you mesmerised and hypnotised.
