About this release
ZUZY is a Gold Coast-based Polish-Australian singer-songwriter, producer and live-looping performer creating quirky alternative pop with R&B, electronic and funk influences. Drawing on her neurodivergent perspective, she combines playful, emotionally direct lyrics with layered soundscapes. Her background spans music education, performance, production and improvisation. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Szczecin and has performed across Australia, Poland and the United Kingdom. That formal training sits alongside a playful, hands-on approach to songwriting and sound. ZUZY’s current original-music project is supported by the City of Gold Coast Arts Development Fund. Developed across Australia and Poland, it brings together three original singles and two music videos. The first release, Gravel Road, arrived on 26 June 2026 and explored nature, solitude and self-trust. Her second single, Up To Me, arrives on 4 September 2026. Built around funk-tinged alternative pop, R&B and electronic production, the song turns the frustration of an indecisive relationship into a playful ultimatum. Its direct, sarcastic lyric rejects the expectation that one person should carry every decision and all of the emotional momentum. On stage, ZUZY uses voice, piano, keyboards, percussion and live-looping technology to build arrangements in real time. Storytelling, improvisation and experimentation allow each performance to shift with the room rather than simply reproduce the studio recording. The Polish-language single Sama w domu will follow later in the project. Song Info: About the song Up To Me turns the frustration of carrying a relationship into a playful ultimatum. Over funk-tinged alternative pop production with R&B and electronic textures, ZUZY addresses a partner who leaves every decision to her - whether to stay, how to move and what happens next. The hook flips capability into refusal: if everything is always up to her, she no longer wants it. Direct, sarcastic and sexually confident rather than heartbroken, the song captures the point where patience runs out and indecision stops being attractive. Its sharpest line lands as both punchline and boundary: “Make up your mind, you’re boring.” Music video Filmed on the Gold Coast by Zane Taprell, the official video extends the song’s cheeky, provocative tone through stylised performance and deliberately absurd visual details involving cucumber, cream and ketchup.
