Dude’s Taken is an half American, half Australian alt-rock band playing out of Newcastle, NSW and bringing a new wave of pop-punk and indie rock to Australia’s live music scene. Drawing influence from bands like My Chemical Romance, MUSE, Cage the Elephant, and Silverchair, they fuse high-energy riffs with emotionally driven lyricism. Dude’s Taken isn’t just nostalgia, though emo and indie at it’s core and pop-punk in volume, the band creates a sound built from an older generation for the new generation of rock fans. Song Info: Crashing Down is the second song on the Never EP. It has continued to be a crowd favourite since day one. It’s great use of tension and release make the song’s themes and chorus hit that much harder. The song focuses in on themes of self doubt and living up to expectations and turns them on their head by suggesting living by your own terms and on your own timeline.
