Boorloo/Perth-based artist EDIE returns with her sophomore EP, 'Garden of Edie'. Exploring themes of self-discovery, confidence, confusion, toxic relationships and the consequences of temptation and choice, 'Garden of Edie' is an intoxicating electronic-pop and dance release that, much like the forbidden fruit, leaves innocence behind once bitten. Following her 2024 EP 'unsaid' and sharp-edged singles 'Bleed' and 'Girl’s Girl', EDIE has continued to evolve her sound beyond its indie-pop and alt-rock foundations. Looking to shapeshift and expand her artistic world, EDIE united with producer Calvin Bennett to create 'Garden of Edie', stepping confidently into a darker, bolder and undeniably club-ready version of herself. Speaking on the EP, she shares: "This EP is about figuring out who I am in my 20s. Exploring a range of feelings from happiness to sadness to confusion. It’s cathartic and raw, and I hope it can resonate with someone out there!" Returning to the EP’s darker electronic-pop and dance foundations, 'Chemical' channels emotional overwhelm through oscillating synths, manipulated, trance-gate vocals and pulsating bass, capturing the experience of obsessive thoughts replaying on a loop.
