About the Artist

Bio: London-based alternative band and purveyors of fresh denim. Inspired by bands that used to be, and some that still are. Handsome Waitress formed in 2023, and have been performing across London ever since. Their debut EP 'Smoke Signals from the Kitchen' featured songs they wrote in their formative period. They released their second EP “Denim” in 2026. 6 folk and gospel tinged indie pop songs, Inspired by the rural Welsh coastal town of Borth, and converted chapel turned studio, where they were recorded. Lyrically introspective and heartfelt, detailing lead singer Daisi Jayne’s experience with depression, anxiety and search for purpose as a woman in her twenties navigating work, relationships, and day to day life in London. They are most strikingly comparable in sound to contemporary UK indie acts like Wolf Alice, English Teacher and Honeyglaze, but also draw inspiration from various corners of 20th century guitar music, from ‘60s R&B (The Velvet Underground, The Doors) to late-’70s new wave and post-punk acts (Blondie, Joy Division). Song Info: Once, very accurately, described as a “prom song”, ‘I’ll Be Home’ places the listener in the final scene of an imaginary 1980s coming of age movie.
