About the Artist
Hugo S. Simões hails from a small island along the Mid-Atlantic ridge and came up through gigging around the Lisbon folk scene, sharing his songs one basement at a time, having since performed internationally around Europe and in the UK. His solo work balances warmth, grit, and quiet intensity, with lyrics that merge traditional themes with his background as a poet and writer. In June 2025 he released his first single, To Keep Away the Blues, in November his band project Hugo & the Bad Jujus released a Live EP, The Sun Room Sessions, and his second single My Thoughts Know no Bounds came out on March 28th and is available on all streaming platforms.
