About the Artist

With over 2.5 million artist streams to date, Jake Davey returns with ‘No Good for Me’, an emotionally charged country-pop release that feels like late-night vulnerability wrapped in catchy as hell hook. Co-written in Nashville with Tyler Bank, the single dives headfirst into the back and forth of wanting something you know isn’t good for you. Wrapped in moody pedal steel, big drums and roaring guitars, ‘No Good for Me’ captures the emotional whiplash between clarity and temptation, sitting comfortably in the space between heartache and addiction. “No Good for Me focuses on the tension of wanting something you know you should walk away from but never quite can,” Jake explains. “The song explores that push and pull between clarity and blurred lines, where doing the right thing feels simple in theory, but impossible in practice.” Sonically, it blends traditional country textures, pedal steel and acoustic warmth with subtle pop elements, creating a sound that feels both grounded and current. Produced, mixed and mastered by Jake himself - featuring Travis Toy on pedal steel and Alex Wright on keys, alongside Jackson James on guitars and Rhys Zacher on drums - every little detail was tracked with purpose. “Starting with a raw, intimate foundation, each layer was carefully added to elevate the emotion of the song,” tells the singer-songwriter. “The result is a cohesive, dynamic song that feels both grounded and forward-leaning. It’s a fresh take on country pop, shaped by collaboration and designed to bring the story to life in a way that hits with both subtlety and impact.”
