About the Artist

Jennifer Cameron is a Northern Rivers-based Australian singer-songwriter creating cinematic, emotionally charged pop with alt-country and rock influences. Her music combines atmospheric production, captivating vocals and deeply honest songwriting, transforming experiences of heartbreak, resilience and self-reclamation into songs that are both intimate and widescreen. For her new 2026 releases, Jennifer has been working with award-winning producer Jordan Power at Brooklet Recording in the Byron Bay hinterland—the musical home of Bernard Fanning. These recordings bring together cinematic production, organic instrumentation and heartfelt storytelling, featuring accomplished Australian musicians including former John Butler Trio members Grant Gerathy on drums and Byron Luiters on bass, keys and Mellotron, alongside award-winning guitarist Michael Muchow. Jennifer’s songwriting draws on lived experience and a mature perspective, bringing emotional depth, vulnerability and authenticity to her music. Her journey has also been one of reinvention, reflecting the belief that it is never too late to reclaim your story, follow your heart and create something new. Her sound sits between cinematic pop, singer-songwriter storytelling and alt-country/rock, with a strong emphasis on melody, atmosphere and emotional connection. In 2026, Jennifer is releasing four new recordings, beginning with “Tide” on 4 September, continuing to build a distinctive body of work that pairs emotional honesty with expansive, cinematic sound. Song Info: Alternative pop artist Jennifer Cameron has announced the upcoming release of her evocative new single, "Tide," arriving on all major streaming platforms on September 4, 2026. A cinematic, atmospheric alternative pop ballad, the track serves as a profound exploration of emotional gravity—the helpless experience of being repeatedly pulled back to someone you know you should let go. Using the relentless push and pull of the ocean as its central metaphor, the song immerses listeners in a slow-burning journey through longing, vulnerability, and the invisible forces that keep drawing us back to a past we should leave behind. Anchored by an intimate, emotionally honest female vocal, "Tide" unfolds as a deliberate, evolving narrative rather than relying on an immediate pop chorus. Atmospheric production, organic textures, and subtle country influences gradually build into an expansive, immersive emotional release, inviting listeners to surrender to the emotional current rather than simply observe it. The track was recorded at Brooklet Recording in the hinterland of Byron Bay with producer Jordan Power, where every musical element was intentionally crafted to reflect the rhythm, movement, and raw force of the ocean itself. The song's emotional arc culminates in a clever, devastating lyrical twist at its conclusion. In the final moments, the word "tide" reveals itself as "tied," exposing the truth that the current drawing the narrator back was never the ocean, but rather the invisible emotional bond that has held them captive all along. With its cinematic scale and deeply vulnerable storytelling, "Tide" rewards complete listening, drawing audiences beneath the surface and carrying them through the same emotional current as the narrator from the opening note to its final revelation.
