About the Artist

“Somewhere In Montana” came about with a songwriting session that Larry had Michael Flanders organise with hitmaking writer Kris Bergsnes (writer in the past for Tim McGraw, Wynonna, Clay Walker, John Michael Montgomery and many others) in June of 2023 while he was in Nashville. Larry walked into the songwriting space that day and met with Kris and he just casually asked, “What have you been up to Larry?” Larry answered, I’d been visiting my eldest son Lane and his family in Montana. So next thing you know Kris says….somewhere in Montana there’s a girl with a porch light on ….said she’ll wait forever but will she wait alone. (pipes in, you better write that down) and the rest is history. A special love story about a cowboy chasing his rodeo dream on the road with his girl waiting at home. Then the key change for the last verse, and it’s the fella performing on the sawdust floor making a living as a country singer. The film clip to the song tells the story, with a happy ending as the singer comes home off the road. For those classic country dancers, it’s a track to get up close and shine your buckle with, in a loving waltz. Montana holds a special place in Larry’s heart as he was based there through the ‘90s singing and riding bulls and bareback horses on the rodeo circuit. Now his two sons, Lane and his family and Liam his youngest son both reside in Montana, so there is a huge part of Larry still in the US in the Big Sky State.
