An anchor moment of the album, the latest from the songwriter and performer repositions her as one of the East Coast’s most dynamic voices and storytellers. Layered with sonic texture and heart-led lyricism, ‘Living My Life In The Front Seat’ is an ode to self, as much as it is a vibrant offering for fans to get around. As Laura describes, “‘Living My Life In The Front Seat’ is a toast to my future self. The one who's followed her dreams and made it to where she wants to go. It's a reminder to stay grounded no matter how far I fly. At its heart, it's a love song to my home in the country. I can be flying all around the world chasing this career, but the bush is where my heart lives. No matter what life throws at me, that's where I belong. It's also about ownership. I'm holding the wheel and making the deals. I'm in control of my own destiny, mistakes and all.” Putting the song together with her band at Brooklet Recording in the beautiful surrounds of the Byron Hinterland, Laura created ‘Living My Life In The Front Seat’ in an idyllic creative environment: organic and nurturing vibes filling the studio, ultimately leading to the creation of a song that serves as a great emotional lynchpin on the broader album project.
