About the Artist

Sydney/Eora-based artist, producer and trumpet player LOCKE returns with his latest single 'Be Right Up', a vibrant upbeat track that follows on from previous single ‘Sitback’. ’Be Right Up’ is a raw and earnest expression of joy that synthesises elements of RnB, pop, and improvisational idioms. The second single of LOCKE’s sophomore EP extends upon the layers of dense vocals and warm brass that colour his growing ‘bedroom’ sound. Says LOCKE; “The idea for ‘Be right up’ was born in the company of friends. We sat around the room while I played the riff on an acoustic bass tossing around ideas of words that rhyme with ‘up’. In the right hands even the smallest seed can bloom when you give it the time and space to grow. Good company helps a lot too :)” LOCKE continues to craftcompositions that balance musicality with accessibility. He exists in the niche where music is genre-fluid yet emotionally rich, an area that he has consistently built up within the Sydney/Eora underground music scene. As a recent recipient of the Elevate program, LOCKE represents a new wave of emerging Australian talent: community-minded, creatively ambitious, and deeply connected to Sydney/Eora's underground music scene. Through both his music and his advocacy, he remainscommitted to uplifting the next generation of artists while refining a sound that is unmistakably his own.
