Born in Australia to Chinese immigrant parents, Melbourne based singer-songwriter Meander has lived many lives. From ‘high achiever’ kid to eldest daughter, med school drop-out to corporate burn-out, her music chronicles the journey of finding her identity outside of others’ expectations. Alt-pop with a dash of folk, country and rock, you’ll find Meander’s music infused with her distinctively warm, intimate vocals and reflecting varied influences like Kacey Musgraves, Gabrielle Aplin, Sam Fender, Clairo and Taylor Swift. Song Info: Hand Me Downs offers a nuanced take on casting off generational trauma and family expectations, from Meander's experience as a second generation Asian immigrant in Australia. It’s about recognising the sacrifices that brought you here, while declaring that you will forge your own way forward. With big melodies soaring over a driving bass and drums, plus a super fun guitar solo, Hand Me Downs is a bold, pop-rock anthem in the vein of Sarah Kinsley, Paramore and The Killers.
