NVCK feels a responsibility to create an extensive artistic discography in which people can put their faith. His music consists of catchy hooks composed of lyrics which may draw listeners into mental spaces they did not consent to visiting. NVCK sits upon a mound of braggadocios poetry which he pairs with an array of expressive adlibs and vocal layers, all supported by a heavily curated selection of enigmatic yet punchy beats. With inspirations ranging from Black Sabbath to Dean Blunt and King Krule, from The Beatles to A$AP Rocky, Yeat, Sad Boys and Drain Gang, NVCK mixes these chemical energies together in a test tube and braces himself for the outcome. The results are deeply personal confessions disguised as triumphant anthems. The sound of NVCK aligns with the experimental qualities evident in contemporary rap pursuits, whilst remaining devoted to a lyrically driven ambition. At its core, NVCK’s music is fuelled by authenticity and therefore exists in a sweet-spot between egotism and earnestness, as is the fine line he walks himself. Song Info: After years spent building a comprehensive discography of unreleased music, Narrm/Melbourne based artist NVCK (pronounced 'N V C K' or 'nuck') has chosen the track 'MY EYE$' to be the first single released in what will become a plethora of persistent music releases, each single also being accompanied by a music video. Produced by local talent Lunar, 'MY EYE$' employs a beat which immediately barks at the eardrums, bouncing and ripping away until NVCK's proclamations begin. NVCK's time spent unannounced while creating years worth of vaulted (now scheduled) music is referenced in the first line of the song, feeling as if during this time he was "hid[ing] in plain sight" and "fight[ing] for this life everyday." This is followed swiftly by the bold, even cocky claim that despite this being the first official solo NVCK song to release, he already feels as if he's "got the scene in a hold, it's a choke" and certainly "not a joke." Sonically, this track draws heavy inspiration from contemporary and experimental rap and trap scenes and aims to sit at the forefront of these genres by layering its punchy lyrics over an array of expressive ad-libs which culminate into a triumphant anthem made for introspective head-bopping. Additionally, NVCK refers to himself in third-person repetitively throughout the track in order to demonstrate the unwavering confidence he possesses in himself and his art, this self-referential sequence unravelling into a confession of NVCK's emotional commitment towards his craft which is so deep it is as if his "soul has been sold" through a contract which sees him dutifully bound to it. Ultimately, this track is a prideful boast of accomplishment, an announcement of a career, and a plea for listeners to make a real effort to see through NVCK's 'EYE$'.
