About the Artist

Sam Berdt is an Australian songwriter and producer from Melbourne. Originally only a songwriter and producer, Sam has finally turned his focus toward recording his own vocals. Now with two self-recorded singles under his belt, 'Why Can't (You?)' and 'STOP THAT GIRL', he is confidently starting to mould into his own Indie Pop artist, drawing similarities to the likes of ROLE MODEL, Dayglow, The 1975, Quinn XCII and LANY. Song Info: ‘Stop That Girl!’ is something that we’ve all been through… Someone that takes your breathe away, but disappears just when it seems like it’s getting good. The song came about after a first date with a girl I met on New Years Eve. We had an amazing night and I found myself thinking it could probably be something more. Next thing I know, she was gone and I never saw her again! All that infatuation only for her to disappear the moment I turned my back to pay the check. So on a rainy day at home in Melbourne, I wrote and recorded the acoustic version, then added to the production a year later. I worked with engineer, George Charra, on the mix and master, and we were done! It's significant to me because it's the second song that I've recorded myself singing on, so I'm hoping to build on the existing positive moment as a public facing artist. Whether road trips, house parties or beach hangs, it’s a song that anyone can enjoy this summer, and that everyone can relate to!
