Samichoux is the musical moniker, and childhood nickname, of one Samuel Rety and represents the wondrous nature of the music pursued by the Meanjin/Brisbane based artist. Sami’s musical pursuits have been described to boast musical intricacy and technical sophistication, as well as having an inherent ability to bring audiences together in a frenzy of unfiltered joy. Song Info: ‘Noir’, is a fresh and fierce take on the moody Film Noir aesthetic. Often describing it to audiences as if… “The Police wrote a James Bond theme… but a bit funkier.” ‘Noir’ tells the story of someone who has realised their partner is being unfaithful, and is coming to terms with the fact they’ve been cast aside for another. The song’s strident guitars paint the character’s frustration, the dark chords and the lyrics set the song in it’s movie-like riverside scene. With its distinctly not understated styling, Samichoux’s Noir is a new and memorable take on something that seemed so defined in its styling, is bound to present something new to any listener.
