About the Artist
Sara Berki’s “Where I’ll Be” is written for and inspired by the birth of her first child. Written across every stage of her pregnancy, the song reflects on time, growth and unconditional love from a mother’s perspective. “Where I’ll Be" isn't just a song for my baby, it’s a song for every parent who has gone through the process of parenthood. As I realise how fast this journey has been for me thus far, it saddens me that I can’t do anything to make time stop, to soak it all in just that little bit more. All I can do is cherish moments and memories through my writing. I wrote this song from every stage of my pregnancy which is the most meaningful part about it. From finding out in America, to coming home here in Australia and moving through the days and months. I wasn’t able to finish it all at once because I hadn’t yet experienced what it feels like from the mother’s perspective. But I get it. There comes a time where the growth of my children will be one of life’s greatest achievements yet one that will tear my heart out. I hope my children know they can always run back to me with “I love you” echoing through their bones.”
