There are no fairytales gone wrong in Susan Muranty’s Uncrossing Every Star, the beautiful and uplifting new focus track for her latest album, Darkness Illuminates Our Light. Co-written with Nashville’s Elena Giordano and produced by Aria and Golden Guitar Winner Matt Fell, Uncrossing Every Star captures the heart and soul of Susan’s new album which is all about finding beauty and bravery in the darkness. “It’s so important that people hear stories that are inspiring and hopeful. Despite the strong forces pulling them away from each other, the lovers in this song choose each other no matter what - and it’s kind of a fitting metaphor for some of the world-level struggles we are facing right now. No matter how difficult the times we live in, we need to know we can influence the world around us in positive ways. Tragedies are not always inevitable. It’s the way we handle them that determines their outcome and our greatness - and illuminates our unique and powerful light.” Susan’s love of words and song-stories is well-known. She has won multiple awards for her songwriting, including The Hollywood Music in Media Awards, UK Songwriting Contest, Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA), Australian Songwriting Association and SCALA’s Festival of Original Music (FOOM) and is currently a Top 15 Finalist in the Lyrics Category of this year’s prestigious International Songwriting Contest (ISC) with winners to be announced in May. “I love words,” says Susan. “ I love their sound and feel and cadence - the music, the melody, the rhythm locked into every syllable. But above all, I love their power to reach hearts and minds. They really can be weapons of mass enlightenment when used in the right way.”
