About the Artist

Tracey Bunn has spent over 30 years honing her craft, performing at venues and festivals across Australia, Ireland, UK, Europe and the US, both solo and with her former band the Toe Sucking Cowgirls. Her exuberant live shows have garnered praise around the world and her song-writing has drawn a swag of awards. With a powerful voice and gutsy style, she grabs her audience, finds the remarkable in the ordinary, and swings from rollicking sing-a-longs to moody ballads and tender songs of yearning. By the Wayside, her 2011 debut solo album, recorded in Nashville with fellow Aussies Anne McCue, Mark Moffat and Bones Hillman, is a distillation of songs that reflect on a failed relationship, the demise of her longtime band, the landscapes of her travels, enduring friendships and the solace of her home base in remote northern Australia. Garnering national airplay and 5-star reviews, her song Shutup and Let me Breathe was picked up by Aussie Blues legend Colleen Hewitt and released as the single off her album Black and White debuting at #1 on the 2015 Aria Jazz and Blues charts. In 2023 Tracey donned her producer’s hat and setting aside her own storytelling prowess partnered with lyricist Peter Hayes to self-produce her latest album, ‘Another Broken Juliet’. Released in August 2025, featuring 10 tales of heartbreak, murder and isolation, it pushes beyond the country-folk terrain she's best known for and into darker emotional territory without abandoning the warmth and musical character that have defined her work. “Tracey Bunn has delivered one hell of a beautifully crafted, soulful, textured and atmospheric collection of songs.” Stuart Coupe “Her honest heartfelt songs convict her of the heinous crime of being a fine writer, observer and teller of tales. She is a woman who demands we listen and then delivers.” MAVERICK MAGAZINE UK
