Victoria Crosby Breaks the Good Girl Mold

Far North Queensland singer-songwriter Victoria Crosby is trading traditional bush ballads for a brasher, self-assured sound in her latest single, ‘You Need A Cowboy’. About the Artist
’The Nightclub Singer’ is a song about music being passed from one generation to the next. Victoria Crosby grew up hearing stories about her grandmother’s years as a nightclub singer — stories that stayed with her long after those days were gone. Decades later, Victoria found herself standing behind a microphone too, building her own life in music. The song connects those two generations — the glamour of the old nightclub days with the boots, red dirt and country music of today. It’s about the way music can stay in a family, even when the stage is gone, and how sometimes you end up following a path that was started long before you knew it was yours.
