About the Artist
Raised in Cronulla by a first-generation Greek mother and an Aussie father, Adam Newling is a singular voice in Australia’s alternative music scene. Blending grungy alt-rock and country-leaning songwriting with poetic lyricism and an unruly, heartfelt vocal style, Newling has carved out a sound that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably his own.
After cutting his teeth as the longtime guitarist in Ruby Fields’ band—and featuring as a vocalist on her ARIA #1 debut album Been Doin’ It For A Bit—Newling stepped into the spotlight with deeply personal solo work. A magnetic live performer, he’s completed sold-out headline tours and appeared at festivals including Laneway, Woodford Folk Festival, Yours & Owls, and NYE On The Hill.
He’s toured alongside Gang of Youths, Amy Shark, King Stingray, Ruby Fields and The Church, supported Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners on their 2025 Australian tour, and toured the US with Skegss—continuing to build something honest, loyal, and entirely his own.
