I don’t often write from scratch during co-writing sessions either but the lyrics for Don’t Say You Never Felt it seemed to come so naturally when I heard Annika’s beat.” With mixing courtesy of Matt Bartlem (Boo Seeka, Lastlings, Jarryd James) and mastering by Dale Becker (Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter), Don’t Say You Never Felt It amplifies Anya’s ever-flourishing sonic universe, dazzling with confidence and deeply relatable subject matter, as she elaborates, “I wrote this song about someone holding back their feelings for you and lying to themselves. I could tell that they felt the same way as me but wouldn’t admit it.” “My team is absolutely insane,” Anya continues. “I don’t think I could find a better group of people to believe in and back me. From my brother Jay, my manager Em and then Dale Becker and Matt Bartlem, I just feel so lucky that they all want to be part of this journey with me.
