About the Artist
Fans of the group April And The Drift celebrates their latest bluegrass reggae release called Pick Yourself Up, a song the singer-songwriter Sarah, stage name, April, wrote she says around six years ago in Australia. I have already had people saying that is just proof to how long it can take to create just one good song, and I appreciate their understanding and agree with them completely. She further explains how impatience can become one’s own worst enemy too easily in this race, from wanting to write the song, to having written the song, to producing and releasing it, tends to be a much longer journey than just four lines explaining the very real life process. The Columbian arranger and producer, Juan Nicolas Torres Camacho, further explains, after she sent him first the raw stems of the vocals for the song, how it
just spoke to him, with its message and its melody and all, as it be one of his favourites out of all of her songs, so it was easy in some way to produce it, in that kind of mindset.
