AYDAN RETURNS WITH PLAYFUL NEW SINGLE WHAT’S YOUR TYPE AS HIS POP/R&B WORLD TAKES HIM FROM MELBOURNE TO LOS ANGELES Australian artist AYDAN is back with his second release of 2026, WHAT’S YOUR TYPE, landing Friday 23 October and marking the next chapter in the pop/R&B world he has been steadily building. Following April’s LOVERBOY, WHAT’S YOUR TYPE sees AYDAN leave the heartbreak at the door and lean into something a little more playful. The premise is simple: I’ll be whatever you want me to be! Flirty, cheeky and built to move to, WHAT’S YOUR TYPE draws from the early-2000s R&B-pop that shaped AYDAN’s musical instincts, with punchy drums, stacked vocal harmonies and an infectious pop chorus recalling the world of Justin Timberlake, Usher and Ne-Yo - while still feeling distinctly AYDAN. “I feel like I’ve spent a lot of time writing about heartbreak, so it was fun to make something that didn’t take itself too seriously,” says AYDAN. “I knew it was gonna be a fun one when I could see the music video in my head before I wrote the song.” The track follows LOVERBOY, released in April, and continues to flesh out the romantic universe AYDAN has been creating across his recent music - one where relationships, attraction, ego and the messy parts in between are all fair game. It also arrives at an important point in AYDAN’s development as an artist. In September, AYDAN travelled to Los Angeles for a series of songwriting and studio sessions with US-based collaborators, alongside industry meetings and an international showcase opportunity. The trip culminated in a performance at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood on Wednesday 9 September, presented through Breaking Sound and Live Nation. The LA trip represents a significant next step for AYDAN as he begins actively developing his international network and expanding the world around his music beyond Australia. Already an AACTA-nominated actor and independent recording artist, AYDAN has built a growing audience through his music and digital presence, with more than 450,000 followers across social platforms and over 20 million combined streams. His recent releases, including LOVERBOY, WALLS and GABRIELLA, have continued to establish his ability to sit comfortably between pop, R&B and soulful songwriting. Now, WHAT’S YOUR TYPE brings a different energy. It’s confident without taking itself too seriously, nostalgic without feeling stuck in the past, and a little bit ridiculous in exactly the right way.
