About the Artist
Bazza Brown is one of New Zealand’s most promising country-rock artists, earning airplay on iHeartCountry NZ and early support from SIX60 bassist Chris Mac. After Mac discovered Bazza's original music, he invited him to Auckland to produce his song Singalong, a collaboration that would later see Bazza open for SIX60 when their sold-out Grassroots Tour rolled through Balclutha.
Born in Gore, New Zealand's country music capital, raised in small town South Otago, Bazza's passion for songwriting began in his early high school years. Drawing inspiration from the people, places and experiences that have shaped his life, he writes songs that feel authentic, relatable and distinctly Kiwi. His sound blends country storytelling with the energy of rock, while subtle influences from the glam rock and grunge music he grew up listening to still shine through in his signature "trucker" country-rock style.
Whether Bazza Brown is singing about hard work, rural life, good mates or life's quieter moments, his songs come straight from the heart. His down-to-earth nature and genuine storytelling have helped him build a strong following throughout the South Island, with performances at local festivals, events and country music showcases.
Bazza has also made his mark on the competition circuit, competing in the Gold Guitars and Southern Country Music Awards, where he earned runner up in the Senior Country Rock category. Combined with growing industry recognition and a steadily expanding catalogue of original music, he's quickly establishing himself as an artist to watch.
With an easy-going stage presence, memorable songs and a deep connection to his southern roots, Bazza Brown continues to win over audiences wherever he performs, bringing a fresh and authentic voice to New Zealand country music.
