About this Song

F.O. Machete return on May 22 2026 with their new single “Sleeper Cell” — a sharp, glam-leaning burst of energy driven by Paul Mellon’s killer, slacker-punk guitar riffs and a cool, instantly addictive vocal from Natasha Noramly (keep an ear out for the perfectly deployed, and criminally underused, word “sated”). The track opens somewhere familiar: a girl dreaming all her teeth are falling out. Then it slips sideways and she wakes to find she’s not just had a nightmare — she’s a sleeper agent, mid-interrogation, with a drawer full of plastic lemons. Itdoesn’t entirely add up, but that’s part of the F.O Machete charm. Equal parts Pixies, David Bowie (bold!) and Super Furry Animals, the track showcases the bands constant development and follows on from critically acclaimed album “Mother of a Thousand”, released in Feb 2025. “Sleeper Cell” is the second taste of F.O. Machete’s upcoming, as yet untitled new album, due this November on Last Night From Glasgow. The record is being recorded and produced by Paul Savage at Chem19 Studios — known for his work with The Delgados, and for shaping records by Mogwai, The Twilight Sad and Paolo Nutini.
