About the Artist
Introducing your new obsession, Future Shade. An electronic duo formed by Jannah Beth and Andrew Meyer, who have been working between Australia and Aotearoa. Their music lives in the space between euphoria and nostalgia, emotional, soulful electronic songs shaped by long conversations, shared histories, and an instinctive trust in process.
Future Shade explores themes of love, transience, cosmic connection, and shared humanity, drawing influence from artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL, Little Dragon, SBTRKT, Sampha, Blood Orange, and Frank Ocean. Their sound blends organic and electronic textures, balancing melancholy and release, music designed for sunset festival stages as much as intimate listening.
‘Payphones’ is their debut single and is the first song they made after deciding to become a duo. Transportive and spacious, the track circles questions of absence and connection: where does the day go, where does love go, and how do we stay close when someone isn’t here? Balancing melancholy and hope, ‘Payphones’ captures the emotional lane Future Shade inhabits: music for open roads, closing doors, and the quiet decision to keep moving toward connection, even without answers.
