Jannah Beth has released her debut album, Orbits & Echoes, a seven-track body of work that marks a turning point in her practice as a songwriter and collaborator. Featuring already released singles ‘Vintage Red Clubman’ and ‘Spiderweb’, the album release focuses on song ‘moonbaby’ — a subtle yet movable track shaped by Jannah alongside Andrew Meyer and Jeauneil, pairing UK-leaning production with lyrics that read like a private diary. Anchored by themes of lunar pull, interstellar longing and cosmic energy, the song feels especially personal: both Jannah and Andrew are Cancers, and that emotional symbolism runs deep through the album’s wider world. To celebrate the album release Jannah will perform an intimate show on 9 May at Offbeat Collective in Sydney. Orbits & Echoes began at a moment of hesitation. After years spent building community and creative infrastructure through Offbeat Collective, the artist-led studio hub she founded in NSW in 2021, Jannah found herself unsure how to return to writing for herself. Instead of forcing direction, she allowed the work to emerge organically through collaboration and a responsiveness to place. The project took shape during a series of instinct-led sessions with producer Andrew Meyer across Offbeat Studios and Bigpop Studios in Aotearoa. What began as open-ended experimentation quickly gathered momentum, resulting in ten songs written over ten days by simply following what felt alive. Later, alongside collaborator Jeauneil in the Blue Mountains, the material was refined through reharmonisation and subtle structural shifts — with Orbits & Echoes ultimately shaped by the songs that remained.
