About the Artist
Before forming Magna Zero with bandmates David Aubrey and Chris DiCesare, Jason Michael Moore wrote and recorded hundreds of songs and instrumentals as a solo artist in the 2000’s and 2010’s. Now for the first time, Moore breaks open his musical vault of sonic art to share previously unreleased work, along with new material.
Moore grew up deep-frying his native NOLA swagger into garage bands with friends, shattering eardrums across the Greater Los Angeles area. Over the past two-and-a-half decades, his songs and instrumentals have been heard in numerous television shows, including Shameless, 24, and The Originals.
As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Moore traverses a diverse musical landscape of genre-melting tones and textures, from heavy psych rock, to gutter punk, to raw acoustic, to funky fresh beat rock. His musical memoirs span the experiences of a young starving artist, an eccentric observer of the human condition, an individual reckoning with existential crises, and beyond.
Moore’s debut LP 'Estranged' is as much a journaling of isolation and alienation as it is a celebration of oddities and intrigue. Tales of societal and personal disembodiment zig zag through delusional wonderlands and dystopian wastelands. Hypnotic beats and razor sharp guitars collide like ice and fire. As each song unfolds, Moore ventures further into an artistic wormhole, seeking purpose and belonging somewhere in an undefined space beyond the mainstream consumer culture.
