About this Song
Following a string of standalone releases in 2026, Laius returns with a vengeance on ‘CAPTURE YOUR WRAITH’, the lead single off his debut full body of work. "CAPTURE YOUR WRAITH" is Laius’ defiant response to an industry where he rarely saw artists like himself on stage. Rooted in his experience as a queer second generation immigrant of Hong Kong and Taiwanese descent, the project directly challenges the conventions and expectations that he grew up with. A wraith is the ghostlike image seen of something right before its death and Laius is capturing this industry's wraith on his cameras. Drawing influences from hyperpop, deconstructed club and bass music sound design, the alternative electronic pop track features autotune, distorted drums, heavy 808s and gritty synths. This is the statement piece of a sound that Laius has aptly named "deconstructed pop". His sound design is sharper than ever, built to cut through a stagnant scene that is in dire need of a shake-up and diversity
