Following the release of her debut original single A Million Different Things earlier this year,
Lucy returns with Karma, an uplifting song centred around the belief that what we put into
the world has a way of finding its way back to us.
For Lucy, the idea of karma isn’t about material reward, but about 9inding reassurance in
choosing kindness and continuing to put something positive into the world, even when
life feels uncertain.
“Karma is a song about my belief that when you put good out into the world, good fortune
seems to find its way back to you. This is not always in material form, but sometimes through
the joy you find in knowing that you have put something positive into the world.
“I wanted to write something about how there can always be light in our lives, even through
the toughest aspects of our journeys.”
About the Artist
A warm and inviting nature permeates Lucy Beveridge’s creative output. Emerging as one of Australia’s most captivating young voices of the last year, Lucy has wasted no time in exploring a diversifying range of songwriting influences and musically, she is flourishing with soulful artistry at her fingertips.
Lucy’s love affair with music began at a young age, growing up surrounded by nature and a supportive family who encouraged her to pursue a natural interest in storytelling through song. The heartfelt nature and honesty at the core of country music was something Lucy became enamoured with as a young person; artists like Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris and Sierra Ferrell emerged as strong, early influences on her sound and writing style.
Cutting her teeth as a performer across the NSW Hunter and Central Coast regions, Lucy has quickly become not only a popular fixture on the local circuit, but has gained recognition for her talent by broader industry.
Her talents have courted the attention of a number of revered music organisations with Lucy being named the winner of the ACMF APRA AMCOS Young Songwriter of the Year Award.
Additionally, Lucy has won the Folk Federation of NSW’s Young Folk Artist of the Year award, the Mothertone Gympie Music Muster Junior Talent Search, as well as Junior Songwriter of the Year at the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) Awards in 2025.
2026 has seen Lucy continue to work on her craft, exploring themes of young adulthood and womanhood through her songwriting. As such, the process has taught the songwriter a lot about the artist she is well on the road to becoming
