About this Song
I’m a Manchester-based pop singer-songwriter, and I’ve just released my new single “Part to Meet.” I wrote it in one day, a week after my ex told me, “I love you, but I don’t think we should be together.” The song comes from that heartbreak and the hope that a goodbye might not be forever. I remember praying that we were parting to meet again. I wrote the ending a week later. We wanted it to feel raw, so we recorded chant-style vocals from across the room, about seven metres from the mic, singing and shouting together.
