About the Artist
Ahead of her first trip to our shores to perform at Town Folk Festival this November with headline shows to be announced, world-wandering UK folk artist Minna is thrilled to announce her new EP Colorado (Nov 5) - written while she was living and working at a wolf sanctuary in Colorado, USA last year - and releases her new single ‘I Don’t Mind If You Don’t Mind’.
‘I Don’t Mind If You Don’t Mind’ is a celebration song: one of living a life that’s tailored by our unique spirit, rather than reinforce the status quo that verges on mundanity through a fear of expressing yourself. “It’s fun looking back and thinking, thank god I’ve done things the way I wanted to (at times) and to see where they have led me,” Minna shares.
Originally from the Scottish Borders and now based in London, Minna was raised in a household of musicians and songwriters, developing a deep connection to folk music and storytelling from an early age. Her soulful folk blends vivid imagery, adventurous spirit and heartfelt lyricism, drawing listeners into landscapes both physical and emotional. She has supported The Shires, Newton Faulkner and Russell Crowe’s Indoor Garden Party, sold-out a headline show at London’s St Pancras Old Church and was named “a newfound Janis Joplin…an absolute game changer” by comedian Johnny Vegas in conversation with Craig Charles on BBC Radio.
