Mosquito Control Music releases their new single, “The Evidence,” as the final installment of Ep “Side 2.” At its core, this song pushes the boundaries of what a rock song can become by adding a shadow of electronica to keep a danceable pulse and psychedelic vibe.
With the constant advancements of guitar effects, the bass riff uses the MXR bass synth pedal as the driving force to create a new foundation of energy and heaviness. Conceptually, “The Evidence” skirts the edge of our sanity when confronting the restricted regions of our addictions. This is recognized in the music video depicting clips of the 1955 Noir/Thriller “The Man with the Golden Arm.”
“The Evidence”,’ follows in the wake of MCM’s fifth single, “We Came to Play,” which spent 14- weeks on Groovers’ Top 100 charts reaching #1 on the US and #9 on Global continuing the nostalgic journey of 80’s and 90’s dance club music. This song draws inspiration from 80’s electro artists like Kraftwerk and Afrika Bambaataa who helped birth Hip Hop adopting early drum machines and vocal modulation, particularly robotic voices.
Similarly, “We Came to Play,” uses the Roland VT-4 analog vocoder to conjure up the insurgent voice of the “Mosquito” to infiltrate and rupture our soulless digital reality! This new persona is revealed through the eyes of children marooned on an island conceding to savagery and tribalism in the new music video, featuring scenes from the 1963 adventure-thriller; “Lord of the Flies.”
