Sydney based trio of misfortune have recorded a song about MIDNIGHT OIL called “Hurling it from the Stage in Lumps”, written by Michael Woods which evokes the power and spirit of one of Australia's most beloved and influential bands. This song speaks to the impact their music had on me from the time I was a teen in the 80s, climbing up through a powerful spoken word narrative of their history and the way they impacted us all. The narrator is Nicolas Cassim (Mr In-between, The Correspondent, The Surfer, Home and Away) and the song crescendos with the refrain "we will never see the likes of them again". On the way, the 3-piece horns play with the urgency heard on Oils classics such as "Power and the Passion" and "Best of both worlds". trio of misfortune is: Michael Woods – guitar, drums, vocals, songwriting Justin Levis – bass Kath Wawatai – vocals Lee Orszaczky – trombone, arrangements Josh Hunter – trumpet Greg Dutton – saxophone And guesting on this song: Nicholas Cassim - narration The recording was made at Zen studios (one of the last before they closed) and was engineered and mixed by Geoff Lee.
