Bio: Alisa Maekinen is Brisbane based singer-songwriter. Alisa creates acoustic and alternative indie-folk-pop that leaves the listeners reflecting on their own feelings. Inspired by things such as nature, their Finnish folk music background as well as by artists such as Aurora and Pehmoaino, Alisa Maekinen delivers a unique style of music with lyrics filled with emotional depth as they write about often unspoken things. For Alisa feeling deeply isn't a weakness, and they want to encourage people to reflect on their past, present and future Song Info: This song is about Alisa's younger self who grew up mentally ill but didn't know what was wrong with her, now later on Alisa who has found the right medications and diagnosis relfects on it and wishes she could tell her younger self it's okay. In a way it's also a apology for her family for being the way she was when she couldn’t control themself. The song was fully recorded in a bedroom with SM58 and a dream!!. The guitar and bass is played by Alisa's friend David Bergman! The song is written, produced and mixed and mastered by Alisa Maekinen.
