Dja Dja Wurrung Country/Castlemaine-based multi-award-winning songwriter, musician, advocate and writer Eliza Hull (she/her) today announces her forthcoming album You'd Think We'd Be Used To Change By Now (4 Dec / independent). At its core exploring change and nostalgia - "looking back at who we’ve been while growing into who we’re becoming" - the album moves through relationships, womanhood, desire and the ways we continue to shift and evolve throughout our lives, ultimately a testament to resilience and listening to your instincts steeped in evocative textural production via Hull in her first album co-producer credit alongside ARIA Award-winner Pip Norman (Missy Higgins, Baker Boy, Mia Wray). Of the single and video, Eliza Hull says: "Better’ isn't about questioning the people I love. It's about the complexity of being surrounded by love, family and a life you're deeply grateful for, while still having moments when something inside you doesn't feel okay. What I was really working out was how do I keep showing up here? How do I make myself better, so I can make this better? I was exploring the way we can internalise responsibility when something in a relationship doesn’t feel right. I also wanted it to acknowledge that most long relationships go through periods where things aren’t perfect. You can deeply love somebody and still have moments of distance, uncertainty or disconnection. With the video, I went for something really natural and filmed on film which I think shows the organic, vulnerability of the song."
