About the Artist
At just 18, Rockquest winner Emerson is one of Aotearoa’s freshest alt-pop voices. Her genre-blending music is honest, deeply personal, and designed to have you singing along by the first chorus. Raised on musical theatre stages and competitive dance floors, she turned her focus to songwriting at 14, spending the years since moving through indie bands before launching her solo project, backed by Liam Beasley (guitar) and Elliott Borland (drums). While she thrives in front of a crowd, much of her energy goes into crafting songs packed with catchy hooks, addictive melodies, and emotive lyricism. Since launching in 2024, seven of her releases have landed on the Aotearoa Hot 20 Singles Chart and earned international editorial playlist support.
