About the Artist

Bio: Her Name Was Fire are a heavy rock duo formed in Lisbon in 2016 by João Campos and Tiago Lopes. Built around baritone guitar, drums, and a massive low-end live setup, the band creates a sound far bigger than two people should be able to make. With two albums released and shows across Portugal and Europe, they return with Obsidian Light, a direct five-track EP written and produced with a fully DIY spirit between Lisbon and Helsinki. Song Info: “Head on the Wall” is taken from Her Name Was Fire’s new EP Obsidian Light. It is one of the EP’s most direct and aggressive tracks, built on fuzzed-out baritone guitar, driving drums, and a raw punk-tinged energy. The song captures the feeling of hitting a breaking point and pushing through it with noise, movement, and attitude. Recorded between Lisbon and Helsinki, the track reflects the band’s current long-distance DIY process while keeping the sound physical, loud, and immediate.
