About the Artist
Sleeping Wave is a new Americana tinged alt-rock duo bridging the 10,000-mile gap between Australia and Scotland. The band is comprised of Miles Fahey (Melbourne) and Simon Whitworth (Edinburgh) who originally met while working in the radio industry. Despite knowing each other for years and both having played in other bands for decades, Sleeping Wave is their first collaboration. Their music is tracked, performed, and produced by Miles in Melbourne. This solid Australian foundation is paired with Simon's evocative, Scottish-penned lyrics and driving vocals to create catchy alt-rock with touches of Americana and gritty classic rock. Song Info: With airplay on UK radio and some early spins on Canadian radio, Sleeping Wave’s debut single is out now on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp. Operating across a 10,000-mile gap between Australia and Scotland, the duo created the track by bouncing files between Melbourne and Edinburgh. Simon (vocals/piano) tracked his vox and piano in Scotland, Miles (guitars/production) built and recorded the musical foundation in Australia, and the final project was mixed and mastered back in Edinburgh by Fin Jackson Audio. Lyric-wise, the song is a crisp charge through a lost relationship that keeps its hooks in. The result is "Cavalry"—a catchy alt-rock number with gritty shades of Americana.
